Jonas is professor and research leader of inflammation research at Department of Molecular Medicine, University of Southern Denmark. In addition, he has worked as senior scientist and project director in the pharma industry and has founded and obtained external funding for four different biotech start-ups.
Jonas’ research often has a translational aspect and is centered on understanding protein and receptor functions, especially receptors on macrophages, not least seminal work in CD163 biology He is spearheading a national core facility for antibody development supported by the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
